About Us
Immigration is a cause near to both of our hearts. We are professional filmmakers with our own filming equipment, and we want to put our gear and skills into good use. As federal support disappears and demand for legal services continues to grow, we believe that high-quality film coverage is instrumental to make the case for those continuing to provide it. Just Docs offers completely free and tailored filmmaking to support the people and organizations providing pro bono (and low bono) legal support for low-income immigrants, centering dignity and respecting privacy in every story.
Our Team
Sevi Burget-Foster & David Zheng
We have been making documentary films together since 2021, starting with a series about immigrant farmers across the east coast. Our film The Voice of Bamboo screened at festivals around the country and was distributed in 2024 by PBS on live television. We both graduated from Yale University in 2023 with a degree in Psychology. Now, we make our livings in nonprofit education access and TV production. David got his citizenship four years ago, and we know just how painful the immigration process can be. We are thrilled to volunteer with Just Docs. Tell us about yourself to explore partnering!
